Drain your hoses, washing machine etc. of water. Drain also your chainsaws, lawn movers etc. of oil. Defrost your freezer and dry it. Give all your contact number to your mover and get the movers’ contact number too. Ensure that you will be available at the time of an emergency. Start bidding farewell to your near and dear ones. If possible send every one a bulk mail, informing about your imminent move, along with your new address.

Make sure that you have transferred all your valuables from your safety deposit. Transfer it to your personal suitcase along with the important documents of your house. Remember to mark those cartons that you want to load last as “important cartons”. These cartons should contain the most essential things that you may need once you reach your new residence.
